i see safety as a trick to make us choose to give up on ever becoming free
is this what anyone really wants? or is it only what we are told we should want? are we simply so afraid of freedom, that we would choose security and protection instead? or is this just what we are taught to believe is true? i don't have the answers, but i do have lots of questions. i can't say for anyone else what they might really want. what i really want is to be free. i want to be free to want the things i want, and not the things society dictates that i should want. i want to be free to think my own thoughts without fear of punishment and ridicule. i want to be free to act as my conscience tells me is right, and not in accordance with any other people's laws and rules. that's what i want.
